Location: 345 Carlaw Ave., Toronto, ON

BDA completed the interior fit-out of a multi-purpose cultural and performance event facility located on the ground floor and first parking level of a new 12-storey condominium in Leslieville. Crow’s Theatre is a versatile facility that has three venues for theatre programming and events, including a 3000 sf, 200 seat, multi-configurational theatre, a stunning 2500 sf lobby bar and adjacent entrance, 1400 sf back of house and production spaces, dressing and green rooms, offices and an onsite 60-seat restaurant. Construction included washrooms, change room facilities, office and support spaces, which effectively serve the needs of patrons and staff alike. This culturally significant, multi-phased project was performed on a construction management basis and included major mechanical work (HVAC, plumbing, controls, sprinklers), electrical work (special light fixtures, controls) and high-end architectural finishes. Special attention to sound proofing details was required to overcome the acoustic challenges of sharing the performance venue’s new home with the building’s residential condominium above.
